7 of us hiked from Curry Village to the base of Half Dome (cables were in place, but no posts or slats, so we stopped at the subdome). We went up via the Mist Trail, and returned via the John Muir trail. It was the first time for 3 of us. The waterfalls were in full thunder all over the valley, and the weather was nearly perfect, although we did get some clouds over Half Dome, and heard one distant thunderclap as we started back. We spent 10 1/2 hours, with a few breaks here and there.

First real sight of Nevada Falls on the way up the Mist Trail

Lots of rainbows from the waterfall spray.

Rattlesnake, moving slowly.

Rattlesnake, this was right where the trail crossed the creek

Start of panorama scan, from just below the subdome

Cables were attached, but no poles or slats

Some people went up anyway, but not many

It was clouding up, we later heard some thunder.

Looking down on Yosemite Creek. You can almost see the top of the falls

Holding up the rock!

Bruce and Casey on the edge of the world, above the falls.

Even on the Muir Trail, there were some drippy, wet sections of the trail
